Eldridge Stormwater Detention Basin Fact Sheet
Overview
As part of Project Brays, the Eldridge Stormwater Detention Basin is the largest detention basin along Brays Bayou and in the county, serves to reduce the risk of flooding for many living near Brays Bayou. The basin is one of four stormwater detention basins along Brays Bayou that safely store excess stormwater and reduce peak flows that can cause flooding during a heavy rain.

Benefits
Upon completion of the Eldridge Stormwater Detention Basin, it will hold nearly 1.5 billion gallons of stormwater. When not used for flood damage reduction purposes, the Eldridge Stormwater Detention Basin will add approximately 340 acres of greenspace to the area.

Location
The Eldridge Stormwater Detention Basin is located north of Alief-Clodine Road, between Highway 6 and Eldridge Parkway.

Status
The detention basin is currently about 61 percent complete and can already store several million gallons of stormwater.
