A cooperative effort between the Harris County Flood Control District and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that also incorporates local initiatives.
The original total cost to implement Project Brays was approximately $550 million. The Corps shares 50 percent of the cost of approved projects.
The ongoing risk of flooding is due in part to our flat terrain, impervious soils, and the continuous potential significant rainfall events.
